Building a product, not a project

A project has a scope and an end date. A product has users, a roadmap and a business model. The two need different approaches, and treating a product like a project is why so many first versions launch complete and unwanted.

Discovery before building

The most valuable weeks of a product engagement are usually the first three, spent identifying which assumption would kill the business if it were wrong and finding the cheapest way to test it.

Ship narrow

We build the smallest version that lets real users do the core thing, put it in front of them, and expand based on observed behaviour. Every additional feature in version one is a bet placed before you had evidence.

Instrument from day one

Analytics, funnels and cohort retention configured before launch, because retrospectively reconstructing what users did in the first month is impossible and that month contains the most useful signal you will ever get.

Build for the team that inherits it

Conventional technology, automated tests on core logic, documented architecture and reproducible environments — so the product can be handed to an internal team or a new developer without a rescue project.

How a product engagement runs

Discovery and shaping

Problem definition, user research, competitor review, assumption mapping and a prioritised roadmap with an explicit first release.

Prototype and validate

Clickable prototype tested with real target users before writing production code, which is the cheapest point at which to be wrong.

Build and launch

Two-week sprints with working software at the end of each, automated testing, staging review and a launch that includes analytics rather than adding them later.

Iterate

Post-launch measurement against defined success metrics, with roadmap decisions driven by usage data and user interviews rather than internal opinion.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between product development and custom software?+

Custom software solves a defined internal process. Product development builds something with external users, a roadmap and a business model, which requires discovery, iteration and measurement rather than a fixed scope.

How much does it cost to build an MVP in Saudi Arabia?+

A focused MVP typically runs SAR 120,000 to SAR 350,000 depending on complexity and whether mobile apps are included. Narrower first releases cost considerably less and teach you more.

How long does an MVP take?+

Twelve to twenty-four weeks for most products, including discovery and prototype validation before production build begins.

Do you help with product strategy or only build?+

Both. Discovery, assumption mapping and roadmap prioritisation are part of the engagement, because building the wrong thing efficiently is the most expensive outcome.

Can we take the product in-house later?+

Yes, and we build for it — conventional technology, automated tests, documented architecture and reproducible environments so handover does not become a rescue project.

Do you work with startups?+

Yes, and we will tell you honestly when the smallest useful version is much smaller than the one you have described.
